Despite negative reviews to the contrary, I found the 2004 Ice Palace to be a worthwhile excursion. Three factors made this so: one, I visited at night – during the day, the thing looks like…well…a big pile of ice. Two, the much-reviled bigscreen TVs mounted in the walls of the ice structure were inoperative. And three, I had pleasant company, whose enthusiasm was infectious.
