The rain yesterday was incessant, and of course it was our day to validate our signal equipment. For most of us, it was our first time even touching our gear for many months, so it took a while to remember what the hell we were doing. Add that to the inevitable parade of broken and semi-functional equipment, toss in some ankle-deep sucking mud for good measure, shake well, and enjoy!
At least I got to try out my new (with tags still on and everything) “Improved Rainsuit.”
Also, I signed for the company’s new digital camera today – a little Olympus Stylus 410 – since apparently I’m now really the official company photographer. The first sergeant was tossing around the term “PAO” (Public Affairs Officer) though, so who knows…maybe I’ll be making statements to CNN soon.
