greetings from camp victory

2004 November 4
by Delobius

Hey, it’s Iraq. 70 degrees, rainy, humid, palm trees everywhere…what? Not exactly what I was expecting.

It’s uneventful and muddy here (except for a mortar explosion yesterday that seemed pretty close); we’re just getting unpacked and organized after the drive up here. The next entry is a partial narrative of the convoy from Kuwait…I’d have pictures but I forgot to bring them on my memory stick. :( Maybe next time.

Just wanted you to know that we haven’t lost any walnuts–none have strayed or had to be put down. (For those of you who are confused, watch “A Touch of Satan.”)

I just wanted to say I love you and look forward to hearing from you again soon.
