From the month of august…photographs.

About two hundred soldiers from the BTB showed up at the armory yesterday from Ft McCoy. I brought my camera and appointed myself as the public affairs guy (who’s gonna mess with a soldier in uniform who’s also carrying a huge, expensive camera?).

Here are some pictures. Look!

Last week, Mrs. Melobi and I hopped into Human Transport Eltreum and made the drive to Theodore Roosevelt National Park, in western North Dakota. It was gorgeous…but I’ll let my images speak for themselves.

The Mrs. and I went to Alaska last week, to see the start of the Iditarod – the famous 1100 mile sled dog race that starts near Anchorage and ends in Nome – as well as just view the scenery, since neither of us had been to Alaska before.

Since a picture is worth a thousand words, here’s a 29,000 word post for you until I can produce some actual text. Enjoy!

I can guarantee you that no one in the 2nd Infantry Division is really this cute…

(Image comes from Ebifly, once again – I’ve linked to his work before.)

Since I’m a big bad sergeant now, it’s only appropriate that I have my very own private. Isn’t he cute?

Here’s a goofy picture of me and the Missus, with one blurry cat and the other one AWOL.

Best wishes to everyone out there in internet-land, and of course warm thoughts to all the soldiers, Marines, airmen, and sailors out there on the front lines, wherever you are. May you all have at least a quiet Christmas.

Administrative note: I’m upgrading my web hosting today, so the whole site might just go crashing down in flames. But if it doesn’t – it’ll be more features, more action, more Delobius!

Mrs. Melobi and I spent the weekend on the north shore of Lake Superior. Sadly, there was no snow – our Minnesota reputation is failing! – but at least there was some ice on the oft-photographed Gooseberry Falls.

Picture time – click on this hot link on my internet web site to view some highlights of scenic Camp Dodge, IA.
